Busy Week

I finished, sorting, entering and labeling all my stuff for the weeworld consignment sale and got it all dropped off today.  The sale is Friday, and it's the last one they are doing.  The girls that run it are opening up a store, so they won't be able to do the semi annual sales anymore.  There is another group that does something similar, but they are a lot smaller.  Maybe this will help them grow.  I've got the Glider and some other big items for sale this time around to make room in Madison's room.  Her birthday and Christmas are right around the corner.  I want to get her a play kitchen, and now I have somewhere to put it.

I'm also getting ready for the scrapbook convention in two weeks.  I'm taking a class that is photos first, so I need to have a bunch of photos ready to go, with odd measurements.  I'm trying to weed thru my photos to get some that match the colors, and look okay with the sizes that are required.

Madison went back to the dr. to see if her ears are clear and they are for now.  The dr just wants us to keep an eye on her.  They also weighed her and she is at 30 lbs!!  She was just 28lbs two weeks ago, holy cow she's growing fast!

We got rain this week!!  Not only did we get rain, we got it three days in a row!  WooHoo, of course it's still humid so when it stops raining it is HOT!  That's all for now.  Bye.

Crack!

It was the crack heard around the neighborhood.  Madison smacked the crap out of her forhead yesterday.  She had opened the entertainment center doors to get out her "animals" and left the door open. Then she started running in circles to ring around the rosy, next thing I knew she was airborn and connected with the open door square on and smacked it good.  Her forehead could not of hit more perfectly in the center if you tried to set it up again.  I felt so bad for her.  She cried for about 15 minutes and it made her madder if I tried to put ice on it so I stopped that.  When she finished crying and I kept looking at her forehead it made me cry so she gave me a kiss and a hug.  She's so sweet.  I haven't been able to get a really good picture, because she won't sit still, so I think she's going to be alright. :-)

Another Ear Infection

Geez, Madison ended up with another ear infection this week.  Daycare called me on Monday and told me that when she woke up from her nap she had ooze coming out of her ear and her eye was swollen shut.  After the dr appt. we were armed with ear drops, eye drops and an oral antibiotic.  I Laughed when the dr mentioned the eye drops.  No way how in the world am I going to get eye drops ina wiggly wormy stubborn little girl!?  Well I have to say after the first two days, it hasn't been to bad.  She puts up more of a fight with the ears drops then the eye drops.  We got back in two weeks to see if it's cleared up and may get referred to see an ENT dr.

 

Even in her sleep she won't give up her sippy cup.

 

Jack in the Box has kid meal toys that are Yo Gabba Gabba, so that means we had to go get them.  She loves them and trys carrying them all at the same time.

Madison is back to her old self!  She's been great for a week now, I've just been busy and haven't updated.  I've been getting stuff together for wee world consignment sale.  It's the last one they're doing.  I love wee world because you price your own price label your stuff, and then they do the rest of the work.  You get 70% of your sales, which is pretty good.  I have been posting some of the big stuff on Craigslist this time around, mainly because Loren works on the drop off day, I would have to make several trips on my own.  I like Craigslist, but I really dislike it too.  It's such a pain to go back and forth and dealing with no shows, and getting offers way under the asking price. 

At work we have started our EMD training which means we will be able to give pre arrivals over the phone until EMS gets there.  I think it's great and can't wait to be able to start.  It really sucks when people ask for your help and you can't give it to them.  It is a common misconception that every time you call 911 they will be able to tell you how to give CPR, or things like that.  Every city is different with different protocols.  Thankfully more areas are starting to realize that it is a bigger liability to not give them at all and are starting to train more.  When it comes to training dispatch is last on the list and it takes a tragedy to get the gears in motion to put them at the top.  The other huge misconception about calling 911 is that we automatically know where you are.  That is not the case at all, especially with cell phones.  We may be able to ping and get a street you are on, but that's about it.  It depends on the equipment that station has and how old your cell phone is.  Sorry one of my biggest soapboxes when it comes to stuff like this is to always know where you are.  If you are traveling, know what highway you are on.  If you are visiting a friend have their address written down somewhere, and my biggie.  If your kid is going to a friends house know the address of that house.  Way to often a parent calls because their kid hasn't returned home when they were supposed to and you don't know where the friend lives.  Where are we supposed to start looking?  Anyway like I said it's my soapbox and I'm done.  Time for pictures!

Madison is dong a whole lot better.  She's eating and making up for lost meals this past week.  She's still got a little bit of the bug, and I'm still doing seepage laundry, but I think we are almost done.  My washer is ready to go on strike I'm sure.  Loren's truck broke down today.  It wasn't to expensive of a fix, but there was lots of running around and waiting.  He wanted to get Madison a toddler bed yesterday, even though I think she's still a little young.  Well we picked one up, and got it together and Madison loves it.  She also loves the freedom it brings.  Bedtime is taking a little bit longer. 

Oh and there was another thing I had wanted to add from Hell month aka as July.  One day when I pulled up to the house after a 20 minute car ride with a screaming Madison, there was a tree branch as big as my car that had broke off and fallen in front of the front door, blocking it.  I don't know how, but I managed to drag that sucker to the side of the house since Loren was at work. Oh and some nice passerby put his name and number on a piece of paper and stuck it to a branch, in hopes that I would call him and pay him to cut it up and haul it off.  I guess I can't blame him for trying.

A GOOD MOM

A good mom goes running to the room when she hears her baby yelling for help.  A sarcastic good mom finds her daughter in a predicament that is not life threatening and runs back out to get the camera.  You can see the annoyance in her face that I had left without saving her the first time.

Oh I forgot

I forgot to add 2 other incidents that made July less than Stellar.  I had a training class for work a couple of weeks ago, and had to take a city vehicle to the other side of town.  The second day the car died on my and left me stranded until I could get help.  Luckily I saw that something was wrong and was exiting to turn around and head back to the city and just get my car.  When I got to the intersection the whole car shut down, and I tried to coast to the side of the road.  I almost made it but the rear of the car was still in traffic, until the city fleet guys showed up with another car.  I did still make it to class on time, because I had left early enough to accomadate for traffic anyway.  Then the following week, my valve stem on one of my tires broke leaving me with a flat one morning when I was about to leave for work, (I'm pretty sure the oil change place had something to do with that, since I had my oil changed the day before).  You would of thought it would be a quick fix for a valve stem and only a few dollars.  Ha Ha, not the case, because well it was the July from hell and nothing was going easily anyway.  My tires have sensors on the valve stems and you have to replace the whole mechanism.  So 80 bucks later and an all day event findings someone who had it in stock I had a new valve stem. 

Madison is still sick with lots of diarrea, she's had it since Saturday so we are taking her back to the dr. today.  I'm worried she is going to start getting dehydrated.  There has to be something we can give her.  Her poor bum just can't take anymore of this.

Glad July is over!

Sorry whining post today.  July sucked and I'm glad it's over.  I swear everytime I turned around something was breaking or getting sick, or arguing with me, or not returning phone calls.  It just got ridiculous. 

I broke my ac adapter for my computer.  Good thing I purchased the accidental warranty from Best Buy!  Ha Ha Ha it has been the biggest pain in the ass to get this stupid cord covered.  It has been weeks of back and forth with different customer service reps, and managers.  All for a cord.  The final verdict of this mess is that I have to buy the cord myself from the manufacture and then they will reimburse me.  There's a whole lot more to the story, but it's to much to type out.  When I type up my complaint letter I'll post a copy of it here.

When Madison got her first ear infection 2 weeks ago at 5pm on a Saturday.  I took her to an children's urgent care clinic, b/c I was told that her insurance was covered there.  Well after a week of back and forth between their office, and her regular dr. office and a call to the insurance company turns out that her insurance does not cover this clinic and I will be paying for that lovely trip out of pocket.  Thanks.

There were a few other minor things that went wrong, that just made me want to scream, but It's over and done with so no need to dwell.  I am just glad July is over and we have moved on to August!  My birthday month!  WooHoo.  I signed up for the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention in September in San Marcos!  I can't wait.  Time to start saving some spending money.

 However on a plus side I did get a nice little post card from a law firm discussing a Class Action Law suit on SPRINT!  Yep good ol' Sprint is got sued!  What did they get sued for you ask?  Well for charging excessive early contract termination fees, and charging incorrectly when an account is closed.  Boy do I feel validated!  Those shitheads deserve what they got coming.  The only bad part is it probably will only be a ripple on Sprints radar.  I went and signed up and next year I should get 2 checks for 90 bucks as a refund.  Not the full amount I paid them, but it's something. 

I had to take Madison back to the dr yesterday because she had started vomiting and diarrea over the weekend and was still pulling on her ear.  Well her ear infection didn't clear up so I had to get another different set of antibiotics to start today and she has a stomach bug.  Poor thing.  She seemed to be doing better last night and slept thru the night so I think things are on the up swing.  Like I said, glad July is over and August is starting.

Madison had a sinus cold last week that turned into an ear infection, which of course showed itself at 5pm on a Friday, so I had to take her to the Urgent Care clinic.  I didn't want her to suffer all weekend.  We got some antibiotics and she is good as new, playing and having a good time again.

 

We got this Elmo chair at the flea market for 5 bucks.  She loves it.  She loves it so much that she insisted that it needed to be in the crib with her when she went to bed.  After I took the photo I took it out.  I wonder if she'll want to do the same tonight?
